Careers and
HE Guidance
Our award winning Advice and Guidance team will
be available throughout your stay at the College
to offer practical, impartial information on education,
training and career opportunities. As soon as
you arrive at College you will be able to get
the help you need to succeed.
Kidderminster College was awarded the Matrix Quality
Standards award for our excellent service to students.
We specialise in one-to-one guidance interviews
with qualified advisors, who can offer detailed
course information, advice on writing CV’s
and job applications. We work with closely with
Connexions to give you the help and support you
need to make the right choices to succeed.
In addition, a careers information library is
located in the main College library. As well as
housing University / College prospectuses, the
area offers comprehensive computer aided careers
guidance such as Adult Directions, Ecctis 2003,
an on-line CV package and CD-Rom guides.

Higher Education
Kidderminster College offers a selection of Higher
Education courses and has excellent links with
the region's Higher Education Colleges and Universities,
including University of Worcester.

If you encounter any personal or financial problems
whilst at College you can arrange a confidential
meeting with one of our Student Counsellors.
Additional
Support & Special Needs
Students with disabilities - ranging from hearing
and sight impairments to physical disabilities
and learning difficulties, are warmly welcomed
at Kidderminster College.
We consider and assess all individual needs and
in each case a programme of additional learning
support is available. We also have a team of well
qualified and experienced staff, including special
support for learning needs such as dyslexia.
Help With Learning
We realise that every student has his or her own
learning style and pace. Some may need extra help
with essay writing or communication skills and
maths. Our patient and understanding tutors can
give you all the help you need to succeed in your
chosen course.
Every student who enrols at the College is assessed
at the beginning of their course to determine
whether additional help is needed. Your learning
style will be assessed and an individual learning
programme designed to meet your needs. Where required,
we will provide extra tutorials and learning support
to ensure that you're not left to struggle
alone.
Bridging Course
If you need to develop your personal, social,
practical skills and experience to enable you
to start a course at College, we can provide you
with a one year learning programme geared to meet
your needs. The aim of this course is to build
your confidence and independence and can include
a range of programmes from Information Technology
to Health, First Aid and Sport and even Preparation
for Work.
College Nursery
Kidderminster College Nursery caters for children
between the ages 2 and 5 years. We are registered
with OFSTED and the nursery is run by qualified
and experienced staff in a stimulating environment.
We are open Mon - Fri, 9am - 4.45pm (term time
only). Places are limited and are allocated on
a first come, first serve basis..
