Student Charter  

Kidderminster College's aim is to offer the Wyre Forest Community high quality education and training opportunities in a positive learning environment.

We will...

Provide you with impartial advice and guidance in advance of starting your course (or programme).

Give you clear and precise information about your chosen programme of study including entry requirements, costs, how and where you will learn, how your work will be assessed / examined and what support will be available to you (including financial support).

Provide you with a Student Handbook and an effective induction programme.

Provide an appropriate learning environment reinforced by the College's quality system and standards of service.

Give you regular feedback on your progress.

Provide a confidential counselling and guidance service including careers and / or progression advice.

Give you an opportunity to participate in enrichment activities and in the consultative and quality processes of the College.

Make arrangements for a Students' Union to operate in the College.

Make arrangements for any complaint that you may have to be processed quickly, effectively and fairly.

Ensure equality of opportunity throughout the College regardless of age, gender, disability, ethnicity or sexual orientation.

Provide you with clear points of contact for the College's services.

Make effective arrangements for the management of health and safety.


Our Students' Commitment to the College:

You will be expected to...

Take part in any assessment process prior to your programme of study being finalised.

Agree a personal programme of study.

Take responsibility for progressing on your chosen programme by completing all the necessary coursework.

Co-operate with College staff including your personal and programme tutors.

Make use of the College's learning resources as required by your programme.

Abide by the College's rules.

Participate in the College's quality system as requested, e.g. by completing questionnaires.

Help to make the College a safe place in which to work and fulfil your responsibilities under the health and safety policy.

Be considerate to others and treat everyone with respect regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability or sexual orientation.

Attend all parts of your programme.
