| Students from Kidderminster College's HND course in film making had a rare treat when veteran TV producer, screenwriter and director, Ted Childs gave a master class on the founding of Euston Films and his TV work.
Ted Childs’ notable works include The Sweeney, Kavanagh QC, Soldier Soldier, Inspector Morse and its spin-off Lewis.
The students had a two hour presentation during which they were given an insight into how Euston Films helped to revolutionise British television drama, and well as Ted’s own personal experiences of successful script writing and the mechanics of production.
The class concluded with a question and answer session where students were given the opportunity to seek the veteran’s opinions and advice…and the opportunists amongst them requested autographs!
Course tutor, Dr Roger Cottrell, said: "This was a great opportunity for Kidderminster College and exemplifies our desire for the college to be seen as a centre for film excellence. We have other industry leaders lined up to come and talk to our students – it is an excellent opportunity for students to learn first hand about an extremely competitive industry.”
