Staff and parents are celebrating after Ofsted judged Kidderminster College’s Nursery to be ‘Good’ for its registered early years provision, in its latest report.
Inspectors, who visited the Nursery on 4th November, graded all aspects as ‘good’ (grade 2), whilst under the Leadership and Management section, the effectiveness of partnerships and the effectiveness of the engagement with parents and carers was classed as ‘outstanding’ (Grade 1).
Inspectors highlighted in the report, that: -
Children are very well safeguarded
There are robust policies and procedures in place that are clearly understood by staff and shared with parents and carers
Children thrive because the self-evaluation is effective
Staff provide children with individual support and attention and are particularly sensitive to children with additional needs, with key persons devoting time each day to support specific needs
Children are very secure and confident
Partnerships with parents, other settings that children attend and external agencies are excellent and are significant in ensuring that children’s individual needs are bath
Kidderminster College Nursery was first registered in 2003, and serves students from the College and local and surrounding areas. It can accommodate up to 16 children, between the ages of 2 – 4, at one time. Furthermore, it supports children with learning difficulties and disabilities and children who speak English as an additional language.
The College’s Director of Finance, Derek Harrison, commented, ‘The College is very pleased that the Ofsted inspector was able to report favourably on the high standard of education and care provided by the Nursery staff. The well qualified and dedicated Nursery staff should be rightly proud of the service they provide.’
Nursery Manager, Michelle Martin added, ‘I’m delighted with the grading we have been awarded – and it is a huge compliment to our team of hard-working staff!”
