This year Access To Music and Rockschool Ltd. has joined up with Kidderminster College and M.A.S. Records, as a supporter, allowing the college label to showcase their emerging bands at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.

SXSW is one of the largest music festivals in the United States, with more than 1,400 performers playing in more than 80 venues around Austin over ten days. The festival runs from 12-21 March.

M.A.S. Records’ Scott Garrett and Andrew Houston will oversee the label’s artists at this year’s Festival. M.A.S. has put together some very strong material for this event representing artists that have something of their own.

Kevyn Gammond, said, “Without the support of Rockschool Ltd. and Kidderminster college we would not be able to take advantage of these opportunities. This event is an important investment in exporting our music.”

Scott Garrett added, “This will now be my third year at SXSW and I am expecting some great feedback for our local bands. There is always an incredible turnout from the music world, with the priority for new acts being helped.”

Andrew Houston, who will also be attending the festival, said, “After SXSW it’s back to the UK with a bang, where we have the Birmingham O2 Academy promotions with Kerrang! Radio’s Emma Scott. We are also promoting events at the Public Arts Centre in West Bromwich during April, and have a great outdoor showcase event in Bromsgrove planned for Bank Holiday Monday, called Bring On The Noise.”
