Students from Kidderminster College took to the stage with an alternative version of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ last week. ‘Wizard of Oz Rocks’ certainly had the audience rocking in the aisles as the team of eight danced and sang their way through a condensed and contemporary version of the classical musical.
The eight students, who have been rehearsing for 12 weeks, form part of the ‘Transition’ Drama group at the college. ‘Transition’ is a one year, full time course for young people with additional support needs, and is aimed at assisting them in making a successful transition onto a college course or possibly employment. They gain experience in, for example, cookery, creative communication, photography, art, textiles and woodwork , to help build their confidence
Personal Tutor, Sharon Strange, commented, “It has been a complete pleasure to put on this show with my Transition group and they have worked so hard on this particular project.”
