Whether
it is manipulating data, presenting information
or communicating to the world via the internet,
IT is the mainstay of the modern commercial world.

Today’s businesses
produce and handle a mass of information every day,
creating the need for skilled people to manage that
information in an intelligent and productive way.
And for each computer operator there is a programmer
and technician, to build and maintain the software
and hardware that drives our organisations.
With the majority of today’s businesses relying
so heavily on computers and the advances being made
in modern technology there has never been a more
exciting time to enter a business or IT environment.
Games Development and
Multimedia
The boundaries of media and IT are disappearing
with the technological advances in computing ever
increasing our desire for interactive media and
games play. Students can choose to develop their
talents and creativity digitally via either multimedia
or to specialise in games development.
Progression
Students can pursue careers in media,
games development, communications, software and
hardware development, administration, technical
support, computer programming and many more rewarding
roles. Students can also choose to go onto higher
level courses in IT, business, media or games development
with a good grounding in their chosen discipline.
There are not many professions that do not rely
to some extent on IT, and so students of this area
are almost certainly securing their future ‘employability’.
Whichever discipline you choose, Kidderminster College,
with its highly skilled, industry-trained tutors
and up-to-the-minute computer suites equipped with
the latest software, provides the ideal training
ground for those individuals wishing to pursue a
career in the ever-changing world of information
technology and multimedia.
