Aims of the Course
The course, which is run
in conjunction with the University of Worcester,
is a practically focused creative music programme
that will develop students’ music production
skill and expertise to industry standard.
Students will develop an array of related music
creation techniques while studying the course,
including; an understanding of studio recording
practices, audio manipulation expertise, music
for media, creative keyboard and synthesis techniques,
mixing and mastering skills and a deep understanding
of the music industry within a relevant, contemporary
context.
Students will exclusively use Apple Mac computers plus a variety of music software including Logic Pro 8 and Pro Tools. Akai’s MPC range of samplers will also be used, alongside other hardware from manufacturers such as Korg, Focusrite and Digidesign.
Generally, the course is aimed at students with
a background or interest in Electronic-based music
such as Hip Hop, House, Drum & Bass, Broken
Beat, R&B and Nu Jazz etc, who wish to work
in the Music industry.
Students will use fully sound proofed, acoustically
treated recording studios and will be offered
a rich program of cocurricular activities, such
as guest lecturers, seminars and study visits
to London, New York and Barcelona in order to
broaden students’ learning and development.

Music Production, Studio Engineering, Sound Design,
Audio Post-Production and various Music Industry
and Record Company based work.
