Showground Stalwarts Make The Grade
Three Worcestershire men who, between them have worked the car parks at the county's busy Malvern Showground for almost a hundred years, have proved it’s never too late to go back to school!
Stuart Taylor, Ted Gardner and Bill Stowe have accomplished more than 50 years in working hours between them. The men are among 54 temporary staff members at the Showground to achieve a NVQ Level 2 in Crowd Safety Control from Kidderminster College, and they put their new-found expertise to use at the Malvern Autumn Show back in September.
The Malvern Showground welcomes in the region of a million visitors each and every year, and visitor safety is paramount. Showground owner, the Three Counties Agricultural Society, is committed to improving standards of professionalism.
"The Malvern Showground welcomes around 1 million visitors each year and the customer experience is extremely important to us. The enjoyment and safety of visitors on site is paramount, and we are committed to improving standards of professionalism. The NVQ course in crowd control and meeting and greeting has provided our front line staff with the expertise and the confidence to ensure first class customer service. The training provided by Kidderminster College has already proved invaluable to the smooth running of Showground operations."
