As part of our service for employers, the Business Unit identifies funding opportunities to help stretch your training budgets further. We work with funding bodies locally and nationally to support apprenticeships, as well as a range of other training programmes. This is predominantly through the government's Skills Funding Agency, but there is a diverse range of other funding streams.

Our advisors understand the complexities of funding streams and can help you access grants to offset your training costs. Significant subsidies and discounts are available. It means that you can gain relevant high quality training at reduced costs without any of the effort of applying for funding yourselves.

To find out if you're eligible for funding contact the Business Unit on 01562 826501.

Apprenticeships for Existing Employees or New Recruits

We are one of the largest providers of apprenticeships across the Wyre Forest, with over 100 apprentices in training. The College's performance is consistently higher than the national average positioning us as one of the top providers in the county. With over 10 vocational areas ranging from Construction to Security, the College not only works with small to medium organisations, but is also the main provider of apprentices for some of Kidderminster's largest businesses.

You can enrol an existing employee in the programme to improve their skills or you can build up your workforce by recruiting a new employee as an apprentice.

How can apprentices benefit your business?

  • Reduce costs - cost effective way to up skill your workforce and reduce attrition rates resulting in fewer costs
  • Good return on investment - apprentices gain transferrable skills and often rise up through the organisation over time to become invaluable members of the team
  • High quality of work - through experience at college and in the workplace, apprentices gain the training and skills relevant to their job role and your organisation
  • Increase productivity - research suggests that training increases employee productivity
  • Industry specific training - apprentices receive relevant, practical training and gain valuable industry qualifications

Apprenticeships

The Apprenticeship Programme - Steps...

Firstly, the Apprenticeship programme is for everyone aged 16+.

You may need us to help you find one...or you may already have someone working with you who could take up the programme.*

We will then complete an in-depth assessment to ensure a good match between the potential apprentice or programme and your needs. This will identify areas where the candidate is particularly strong and allows us to target priority areas for training.

A specific programme of learning will be agreed with the employer and apprentice prior to the programme starting.

You will receive on-going support from one of our team of Training Coordinators to ensure that any queries are promptly dealt with and that any paperwork required is kept to an absolute minimum. Your Coordinator will ensure you are happy with your apprentice and that they are getting the most from the experience as well.

Our team of business advisors can also help you choose or develop the training that will meet the needs of your particular business and focused on your industry and organisation.

You will have the: -

  • Choice of delivery style and duration
  • Best fit trainers for your organisation
  • Flexibility and feedback
  • Timescales to suit you
