of the Course
To provide a solid grounding
in up-to-the-minute business
skills, the Diploma in Business, Administration
& Finance will enable learners to develop
an understanding of what
business is all about and how it works in practice.
Designed to meet the needs of employers in the
private, public and voluntary sectors the Diploma
covers major topics including: business enterprise;
business
administration; personal finance and financial
services; customer service; sales; and business
communication.
From developing essential life skills such as
planning and
managing personal finances to generating employment
qualities including flexibility, team working,
communication and self motivation, the Business,
Administration and Finance Diploma is the first
step for the business leaders of tomorrow..
Course Content
Principal Learning develops the knowledge, understanding
and skills specific to each Diplomas relevant
industry sector.
L1 Foundation Level Students will:
· Explore different types of products and services
· Know the administrative roles and processes that support businesses
· Understand the knowledge and skills needed to manage personal finances and to plan for expenditure
· Examine different styles of communication
· Gain high quality customer service by developing and understanding interpersonal skills
· Be introduced to the process of personal selling including the main techniques and essential skills involved
L2 Higher Level Students will:
· Gain an appreciation of how innovation and creativity benefit business and society
· Develop and demonstrate communication skills appropriate to the business environment
· Understand the many important aspects of personal finance and financial services
· Study marketing and sales in business
· Explore how business interacts with, and affects, the local, national and global community
L3 Advanced Level Students will:
· Investigate communication theories and practices within the business world
· Research and make decisions about a range of financial products and services
· Explore business taxation, costing, budgetary planning and control
· Understand how businesses use marketing to increase demand for their goods and services
· Become effective at handling customers in a business environment
· Explore the concept of social responsibility
Generic Learning:
· Includes the assessment of Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT
· Develops a student's employability skills in teamwork and self management
· Give the student the opportunity to produce an extended project
· Requires at least 10 days compulsory work experience
Additional and / or Specialist Learning
· A range of employer endorsed study options allowing students to specialise or take up complementary learning
· Allows for flexibility and choice of learning... so it becomes more personalised to you!
Successful Completion
Could allow you to continue to study additional qualifications within the Business, Administration & Finance sector or any other sector as they have direct GCSE and A Level equivalence.
