These courses are ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the Art & Design field. Kidderminster College vocational art and design programmes are offered across a range of disciplines, including fine art, 3D, graphic design, textiles and photography. The will allow you to explore your creativity, learn new techniques and specialise in an area of your choice.

Year 2



  • Contemporary Technique 2 (Cunningham based technique)

  • Ballet Technique 2

  • Urban Dance

  • Professional Studies

  • Choreography for Film

  • Professional Practise

  • Negotiated Performance Project


HND Dance offers highly practical and intensive technical training to extend and develop performance skills. Specific contemporary techniques are studied alongside a traditional classical ballet approach and commercial techniques of Jazz and Street Dance. Choreography is used to expand creative thinking and a variety of new digital media is available to support learners' own choreographic work.


An emphasis is placed on vocational training and the skills required to enter the professional world of the Performing Arts. Learners will have the opportunity to undertake a work placement as well as examining the theories and practice of specific dance roles.


This course is validated by the University of Worcester. Leaners will study at the Kidderminster College site.

Progression routes: Successful completion could allow you to access the third year of a BA Dance programme or a BA Dance top up programme and then a PGCE Dance course, Masters in Dance or Choreography, Professional Diploma in Dance Performance or Post Graduate diploma for Dance Therapists.
Duration: Two years full-time
