Kidderminster College vocational art and design programmes are offered across a range of disciplines, including fine art, 3D, graphic design, textiles and photography. The will allow you to explore your creativity, learn new techniques and specialise in an area of your choice.

Level 3 VTCT Diploma in Complementary Therapies

Course Content

This course will provide you with the skills to communicate, plan and deliver complementary therapy treatments. You will learn how to interact with clients as well as planning and providing treatments that are safe and effective. You will gain a good understanding of the principles and practices of complemetary therapies and consultation skills, plus:


-Business practice
-Health, safety and hygiene
-Anatomy, physiology and pathology
-Body massage
-Aromatherapy and reflexology
-Healthy eating and well-being


Functional skills will be incorporated into the programme.

Progression routes: Teacher Training Certificate A1 Assessors Award
Duration: One year full time
Entry requirements: Under 19s are required to supply evidence of a Level 2 qualification in Complementary Therapies or evidence of four GCSEs grades A-C (including English and three other academic subjects).  Mature learners are welcome, a good standard of education is essential.
Interview required: Yes, plus reference and CRB clearance.
Fee: If you are aged 19+ a fee may be payable - please check with Learner Services.
Additional costs / materials required: Salon uniform, course textbook and aromatherapy/essential oils kit.

Awarding body: VTCT
Examinations / assessment: Direct teaching, assignments, research and written assessments. You will be required to complete a number of case studies for practical units. Functional skills and work experience will be incorporated into the programme.
