These courses are ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the Art & Design field. Kidderminster College vocational art and design programmes are offered across a range of disciplines, including fine art, 3D, graphic design, textiles and photography. The will allow you to explore your creativity, learn new techniques and specialise in an area of your choice.

Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts: Dance

Course Content

The course provides intensive, practical training in dance technique and choreography plus grounding in theoretical analysis and appreciation. Learners take part in practical classes every day, covering a range of contemporary techniques, ballet, tap and street jazz. Learners work towards a major performance each term and have the opportunity to work with professional dancers.

Progression routes: Many of our learners gain places at the most elite dance schools and universities in the country including the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, the Laban Centre and Middlesex University.
Duration: Two years full-time
Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above.
Interview required: Yes. Candidates will be invited to take part in a technique class and interview.
Fee: If you are aged 19+ a fee may be payable - please check with Learner Services.
Additional costs / materials required: Dance kit and performance clothes, recommended reading and visits to see professional work.
