Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology
Course Content
The course prepares learners for the environment of working with sound - practically, theoretically and creatively - using the latest technology currently available. The course is very much 'hands on' with a high degree of involvement with musicians, actors and dancers. Learners will also be supporting the many performances that take part within the department in highly responsible and creative roles - creating music or sound for shows and also acting as live balance engineers. Learners will use a variety of software including Cubase 5, Logic 8 and Pro Tools plus hardware including Tascam 48 channel digital mixers. Within the course you will learn about:

You will have the opportunity to gain considerable practical experience using our excellent facilities which currently include a dedicated Apple Mac computer music suite and two custom designed professional 24 track digital recording studios.
