Course Content
The course focuses on enhancing work and employability skills to prepare learners for the job market and include improvement of literacy and numeracy skills. Learners will also be required to develop a good level of IT skill, which is now considered a standard within business. Content is designed to develop skills which are needed for an effective career and
include the following typical units:
• Career development
• Strategies to improve job interview skills
• Organising and chairing meetings
• Personal skills for leadership
• Presentations for work
• Negotiation skills and persuasion in the workplace
• Giving and receiving feedback
• Project management skills
• Critical thinking
• Academic research skills
Jobs and Careers
You will develop a good basic knowledge of employment skills within a range of vocational areas.
