Level 3 A Level Dance
Course Content
AS Dance is one of a suite of A-Levels courses chosen to complement our range of full-time Level 3 courses, particularly Creative Industries courses.
The AS Level is split into two units. Unit 1 is a theoretical unit, which makes up 40% of the overall qualification. Learners will build knowledge and understanding of the demands made on a dancers body in training and performance. They will also learn to analyse professional repertoire in relation to their own practice.
Unit two is practical and makes up 60% of the overall qualification. The learners will apply techniques learnt in weekly classes to create and perform a solo dance based on questions provided by the exam board. Learners will also learn and perform in a group dance choreographed by their lecturer.
