These courses are ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the Art & Design field. Kidderminster College vocational art and design programmes are offered across a range of disciplines, including fine art, 3D, graphic design, textiles and photography. The will allow you to explore your creativity, learn new techniques and specialise in an area of your choice.

Level 2 NVQ in Instructing Exercise & Fitness

Course Content

The course is ideal for learners who are wishing to enter into exercise and fitness as an instructor or for those who are already working within the industry who need to gain a recognised qualification, through competency based assessment.
This qualification has four pathways:


• Gym-based exercise
• Exercise to music
• Water-based exercise
• Exercise and physical activity for children


Learners will be required to complete all competencies within one of
these pathways. Core content includes:


• Anatomy and physiology for sport
• Principles of exercise
• Working with clients
• Health & safety
• Reflect and develop own practice in providing activities

Jobs and Careers

Employment in the Sport and Active Leisure industry.

Progression routes: Could allow you to progress onto the following Level 3 courses: NVQ L3 in Personal Training or Sports Development or other sport related qualifications such as Sport and Exercise Science, Outdoor Adventure Activities, Fitness and Training as well as Public Services.
Duration: One year full time
Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs, grade D/E or equivalent.
Interview required: Yes.
Fee: If you are aged 19+ a fee may be payable. Please check with Learner Services.
Additional costs / materials required: Yes for residential visits/trips.Course specific polo shirt, gym kit.
