Level 2 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Course Content
Learners will gain a good grounding in the skills and knowledge required to work within the HGV maintenance and repair industry and covers both the theory and practical aspects and includes:
- Advanced health and safety
- Removal and replacement of heavy vehicle units and components.
- Routine vehicle maintenance and safety inspections
You will study the theory and operating principles of all major vehicle systems at Level 2, which will include: diesel engines, tyres, brakes, steering and suspension, vehicle electrical and electronic systems and fault diagnosis.

The programme provides the opportunity to work within the HGV Maintenance & Repair sector of the Motor Vehicle industry.
This qualification also forms the knowledge component (technical certificate) of the IMI SSC Maintenance & Repair Apprenticeship framework (for the Heavy Vehicle).
