These courses are ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the Art & Design field. Kidderminster College vocational art and design programmes are offered across a range of disciplines, including fine art, 3D, graphic design, textiles and photography. The will allow you to explore your creativity, learn new techniques and specialise in an area of your choice.

Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development

Course Content

The course is divided into 6 units of study, 5 mandatory and 1 optional and in addition learners have to undertake a minimum of 300 hours assessed work experience in a variety of early years settings, which will be arranged through the College. The units of study include: Child Protection, Children's Development, Play and Learning, Health and Safety, Professional Development and Preparing Safe Environments for Child Care (subject to change).

Progression routes: CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education or equivalent level 3 qualification
Duration: One year full-time
Entry requirements: 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (English must be one), or Distinction and placement experience from CACHE Level 1 Foundation Award - Caring for Children or equivalent
Interview required: Yes. Plus reference and CRB clearance.
Fee: If you are aged 19+ a fee may be payable - please confirm with Learner Services.
Additional costs / materials required: CRB payment, uniform for placement and course trips.
