These courses are ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the Art & Design field. Kidderminster College vocational art and design programmes are offered across a range of disciplines, including fine art, 3D, graphic design, textiles and photography. The will allow you to explore your creativity, learn new techniques and specialise in an area of your choice.

Level 1 BTEC Diploma in Construction

Course Content

The course has been designed to develop and recognise learners understanding of working within the Construction industry, and will typically include:



  • Starting Work

  • Health and Safety and Welfare in Construction

  • Working as a Team to move and Handle Resources

  • Developing construction drawing, bricklaying, carpentry, joinery, plumbing, electrical installation and building maintenance skills

Jobs and Careers

The programme provides the opportunity to develop a good basic knowledge and practical skills that will be essential in entering the construction industry.

Progression routes: Could allow you to progress onto the following:a range of full-time courses at Level 2, including the Diploma in Construction, NVQ1 and NVQ2 and National Traineeships.
Duration: One year full-time
Entry requirements: No formal requirements, however a reasonable standard of literacy and numeracy, a suitable level of general education, and an appropriate reference will be required.
Interview required: Yes
