These courses are ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the Art & Design field. Kidderminster College vocational art and design programmes are offered across a range of disciplines, including fine art, 3D, graphic design, textiles and photography. The will allow you to explore your creativity, learn new techniques and specialise in an area of your choice.

Course Content

To provide qualifications, experience and skills to those who require them to secure employment or gain access to training or Further Education. The course also aims to develop personal, social and practical work skills, build confidence and encourage independence. A wide range of areas will be covered including:



  • Skills for work

  • Personal skills

  • Information Technology

  • Cooking

  • Practical skills

  • Sport and outdoor activities

  • Work placement

  • Functional skills of Maths and English

Jobs and Careers

Successful learners may be able to move on to further training or employment depending on personal choice and work experience option.

Progression routes: Could allow you to progress onto Vocational Level 1 courses in a chosen area.
Duration: One or two years full time
Entry requirements: This course is designed for 16-18 year old learners with moderate learning difficulties or emotional/confidence difficulties.
Interview required: Yes
Fee: If you are aged 19+ a fee may be payable - please check with Learner Services.
Additional costs / materials required: Exam fees plus money for cooking ingredients. Appropriate clothing for sports and work experience.
