Access to Higher Education
Course Content
You will be helped to build up your skills by studying the compulsory core subjects:
- English and Study Skills
- Mathematics
- IT
In addition to the core subjects you will be required to study three additional modules from:
- Sociology
- English Literature
- Health Studies
- Psychology
- Human Physiology
Your final choice will be based on your individual interest and future career intentions. You will also have the opportunity to obtain GCSE equivalence for English and Maths. A GCSE qualification in Science is available for those who wish to pursue careers in teaching or nursing. You will have a personal tutor who will support you through the learning process and help you to make your application to university.
Jobs and Careers
Degree or diploma in Humanities and Social Science, further training in nursing or social work, teaching.

| Entry requirements: | No formal entry requirements are needed. We would expect you to have a high level of motivation along with a reasonable standard of literacy and numeracy. The application process requires you to attend a presentation and interview, and complete two short assessments of your written communication and number skills. |
